Changes

March and April were filled with so many changes....

Kennedy finally grew enough hair for pig tails--yeaaa! But she didn't grow out of working the camera with her fake smile.

This is what her hair looks like when we take the pig tails out -- we call this ca-razy hair!
In March, we bought a new house and then put our "old" house up for sale. What were we thinking? In this market? With the economy as it is?

I was really emotional during these months. Aside from worrying about carrying two mortgages for who knows how long, plus going through a major remodel of the new house, I was sad about selling our house. Even though I was so happy that our 2+ year house hunt was over and so excited about moving, I was so sad at the thought of moving out of the first house that Gabe and I bought; the house that I brought Kennedy home to; the house that Kennedy learned to walk in; etc. So much emotion! Poor Gabe tried to sympathize with me, but he just did not get it. He was just excited about moving. Men. Here's Kennedy with her new look and in front of our old house. Kennedy and Bevo were so great during this chaotic time. Everything happened so quickly. We literally cleaned out our house (moved a ton of stuff into storage) over a weekend and put our house on the market the following Monday. One of the toughest things for us was keeping the house spotless at all times. Although we are clean people, we are very messy people--partly because we had outgrown the house.

We started remodeling the new house before we moved out of the old house. Poor Kennedy was so confused. We kept taking her to this AWFUL looking house (below) and telling her it was her new house, but then we kept sleeping at the old house. Then, we moved in with Gabe's Grandmother for a while. It was hard explaining to Kennedy that she didn't have an "old" house anymore and that someone else was living in her old house. It took her a while to understand and accept that we just couldn't go back in to our old house. Funny thing is that every time my mom takes Kennedy to the Arboretum or down Northwest Highway, Kennedy says: "This is the way to my old house. Let's go to my old house." I can't believe she remembers how to get there!
